9th ANNUAL SANTA YNEZ VALLEY POLO CLASSIC

benefiting People Helping People

SYV Polo Classic will return on Saturday, October 2, 2021, to Piocho Ranch presented by Happy Canyon Vineyard in Santa Ynez. This community fundraiser is made possible in part by a generous grant from The Mindel Family Foundation.

OVERVIEW

By bringing world-class polo to the Santa Ynez Valley, the Classic’s mission is to raise much-needed funds for People Helping People’s programs, which are dedicated to improving the lives of adults and children in the Santa Ynez Valley and Los Alamos by addressing emergency and basic needs.

11:00 A.M. | General Admission Gates, Food & Beverage Open

11:30 A.M. | WOMEN'S POLO MATCH featuring the Team Grand Avenue Real Estate versus Women's Independent Giving Society

12:15 P.M. | VIP Luncheon featuring Chef Jake O. Francis of Valley Piggery

1:15 P.M. | Parade of Players, Flag Presentation by Sherriff's Mounted Unit and National Anthem

1:30 P.M. | FEATURE POLO MATCH featuring Team Brady Group, Sotheby's International Realty versus Team Ramsey Asphalt

1:45 P.M. | 1st Intermission and Divot Stomp

2:15 P.M. | 2nd Intermission and Hat Contest Winners Announced/Silent Auction Closes

2:45 P.M. | Conclusion of Championship Match and Intermission/Purchase Auction Prizes

3:00 P.M. | Presentation of Awards, including the MVP Award Sponsored by Allan Hancock College and the Carlos Gracida Sportsmanship Award Sponsored by Fairfield Farm SYV.

THE MATCHES

The SYV Polo Classic will feature three matches: A preliminary match and a post-lunch game featuring high goal professionals with an intermission divot stomp.

AWARDS CEREMONY

At the conclusion of the featured match, an awards ceremony is conducted at midfield for guests to safely gather, mingle with the players, and view the presentations of the Perpetual Winner’s Trophy, Carlos Gracida Sportsmanship Award Sponsored by Fairfield Farm SYV, Most Valuable Player Sponsored by Allan Hancock College, Best Playing String of Ponies, and Best Playing Pony.

HAT (& MASK) CONTEST

VIP & General Admission guests are invited to dress for a hat contest with fabulous gift baskets for the winners. As a sign of the times, we will offer a one-of-a-kind mask contest, too.

VIP TENT | VIP TICKET SALES CLOSE ON SEPTEMBER 15th!

VIP TICKETS $300 | VIP guests, including Patrons, Sponsors, and individual VIP ticket purchasers, will once again be treated to priority parking, private tented seating and dining area, champagne, and appetizer reception, entertainment, goody bag, silent auction, and the ever-popular hat contest.

GENERAL ADMISSION

GA TICKETS $25 | General Admission tickets include admission only. Lunch items from food trucks, along with beer, wine, sparkling wine, soft drinks, and dessert will be available for purchase. Vendors are to be announced soon! There will also be a hat contest for General Admission guests.

ATTIRE

Often described as polo chic or derby attire, all guests are invited to dress for the occasion, with creative hats (and matching masks, if you choose!). Be mindful, the parking lot is in a dirt field, the walkways are gravel and partially paved, and the event takes place on a grass field.
